Telepopmusik – Into Everything (CD Review)

Taken from Telepopmusik’s second album (‘Angel Milk’ released 6th June ’05) ‘Into Everything’ is a deliciously gentle slice of downtempo pop. For this track Telepopmusik have been joined by Deborah Anderson (Mo Wax, DJ Shadow, Alex Reece). I am sure all of you rock family tree addicts would delight in knowing that Deborah is the daughter of Yes’s Jon Anderson (don’t be scared, she doesn’t sound anything like her dad).

The seductive purr of Deborah’s vocals against the chirpy electronica makes for a good combination. It is not the kind of record that grabs you straight away; it is more of a slow burner that is sure to appear on a raft of chillout compilations. There are remixes available on the two 12″ promos that are sure to be on eBay by now, namely Rhys Evans & Alistair Douglas’s reworking under the MFA banner with Cassius’s Zdar on one 12″; Kiki and Missive each provide remixes on the second 12″.
