The Somatics – Elemental

The first single from The Somatic’s forthcoming second album is overflowing with 60s and 70s musical history but at no time does it feel derivative. In fact, it feels very fresh and new – mainly because you very rarely hear bands playing with this level of respect for their influences and musical proficiency that verges on perfectionism.

Former Ultrasound member Richard Green’s guitar work on Elemental is truly inspired, often understated but very clever. And as he and bassist Stephanie Green harmonise over the top you just know this is the kind of band that only come along very rarely.
