The Radio Dept – ‘Ewan’

RELEASE DATE: 13th December 2004

Ewan is the third single to be taken from Lesser Matters. The title is based on the mispronunciation of lead singer Johan Duncansson’s name by his relatives when he lived in Scotland as a child.

Clocking in at just under two and a half minutes, Ewan would be a pop hit in a world where bedroom production were the norm, and the Slowdive re-issue was a stocking filler for children around the country. The single is backed with two new B-sides, the instrumental Slottet, and the spectacular The Things That Went Wrong, which best hints at the direction for their next album.
