No Comply – With Windmills Turning Wrong Directions

No Comply formed in 1998 and in six years of playing together they have honed their skills to perfection. Though they would be found in the ska punk section of your local record shop, their metal influences give them an edge and diversity that marks them out. Also, the presence of female vocals makes a nice change, particularly as Kelly Kemp’s range and ability to scream is much better than most of her male counterparts.

These twelve songs are high energy and very stirring with little flourishes every now and then to make sure you’re still listening (I recommend the brass section’s jazz break on the first track very highly). No Comply join a short but impressive list of stunning ska punk albums to come out over the last 12 months. Here’s hoping they’ve got some more to come.
