Nitzer Ebb – Murderous/Control I’m Here

If you danced in the 80’s you almost certainly danced to these two tracks in one shape or form. This double A side has a pair of remixes that bring these old warhorses of industrial dance bang up to date. The relentless ‘Murderous’, sounding like Donna Summer with laryngitis deciding to record ‘I Feel Love’ with a pissed off Massive attack in this reworking by Soma Records Belfast based Phil Kieran.

This is accompanied by the larger than life sounds that Mark Bell has introduced to beef up ‘Control I’m Here’. There are spectral electronic overtones lurking behind the heavy synths and uplifting flourishes to pull you back form the brink.

If any of that sounds familiar then I need say no more. You’ll already be off to the shops…

A CD/DVD retrospective of Nitzer Ebb, going under the title of ‘Body Of Work’ is due out this spring on Mute.
