Nikolai – Way Off The Mark

Way Off The Mark is, according to Nikolai frontman Colin Greer, about the feeling you get when you’re calming down and realise that it isn’t really as bad as you first thought. The early Foo Fighters riffs that push the song along pay off with a great chorus, though lyrically it’s not up to much. The sounds perpetuated across this single come variously from the likes of Feeder, The Sex Pistols and Oasis. There’s plenty of potential on show but the true greatness of their influences is a way off yet.
