Mystery Jets – You Can’t Fool Me Dennis (12” Review)

The Mystery Jets are releasing a 12″ containing a couple of reworkings of their latest single “You Can’t Fool Me Dennis”. To begin there is the Justice Remix that transforms the Jets sound initially into a cross between Queen and a clappy knees-up before some beats slide in. The Straight Bat version (Made by Simian, Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Mystery Jets themselves) takes a more heaps on more high beats and some deviant synth to create more dance orientated sound.

Also included, and the best of the lot, is the Erol Alkan rework of Zoo Time that purifies the song with angelic overtones and then dirties it up again strong bass undertones; this is worth buying just for this mix.
