Graham Coxon – Bittersweet Bundle Of Misery

The second single taken from Graham Coxon’s excellent new album, Happiness In Magazines, finds him in a more relaxed mood than on Freakin’ Out. Opening with a guitar part not dissimilar to Blur’s Coffee & TV (which he, of course, also wrote) and continues in a sort of 70’s electric folk style with tragi-comedy lyrics documenting a doomed relationship. It’s not absolutely clear if it’s doomed to end or continue though.

With backing vocals from Angie Pollock and a bit organ from Louis Vause this single should do just as well or better than Freakin’ Out.
