Eastern Lane – Shades Of Black

Eastern Lane are a Berwick based four piece made up of Andrew, Danny, Derek and Stuart. Part Rock, part folk with a splash of punk and dash of trad ‘Shades Of Black’ is an unexpectedly good listen. Happiness, joy and light it might not be but there’s nothing wrong with enjoying darker moments. There is an air of remoteness, loneliness and solitude throughout this album. Strangely there isn’t the accompanying self-pity or tedious navel gazing that you would associate with all that isolation. ‘Shades Of Black’ is a surprisingly easy and satisfying listen.
