Dive Dive – The Revenge Of The Mechanical Dog

The relentless and surprisingly melodic new album from Oxford’s Dive Dive has some nice rock moments and is punchy at times. The snarling vocals, keen beats and angular axework gel together well.

They are not pushing back any musical barriers here but they are also far from sucking.

While some of the more upbeat tracks like ‘The Game’ and ‘Clarence Boddiker’ smack of pop brilliance there are some tracks like the slightly incongruous sounding ‘Talentless Fucks’ which can be skipped over safely.

From the sound of this they most likely are brilliant live. Speaking of live they happen to be on tour…
