David R Black – Trinity

After two well received singles and support slots with the likes of 3 Colours Red and Hanoi Rocks, David R Black are releasing their debut mini-album; a twenty minute introduction to this jagged art-rock band.

The band work best when playing fast and heavily distorted, as on the first four tracks of this CD. These songs are full of energy and very exciting. Things start to tail off at the end when they slow things down. These final two songs just aren’t as good as those which go before them, leaving you with not quite the memory you would have been. Of course, it’s a nice surprise when you go back to the CD to find that they are actually much better than you remember but I’m fairly sure that’s not what the band were aiming for.
