Busface feat Mademoiselle E.B. – Circles (Just My Good Time) (CD Review)

Busface are back with another slice of vocal house, this time they are assisted by Mademoiselle E.B., aka Sophie Ellis-Bextor (of theAudience, ‘Groovejet’ and solo projects). The solid dance credentials of the Busface duo are clear when the layers of bass and neat beats get your feet moving, the arching synths lift your spirits and Mme E.B. dry and distant trademark vocals earths the track and gives you something to sing along with.

Of the reworkings available the EMP Mix adds space age sounds, vocodered vocals and a more pacey beat, erupting in all its electro glory after teasing beginnings. Spandex give us both their Mix and Dub, the former stripping down the house and rebuilding ‘Circles’ with plenty of squelching, some clipped strings and the vocals. The Spandex Dub focuses on Sophie’s ‘Just My Good Time’ breaking her up and looping her over herself to create a livelier version of the Spandex Mix.
