Burning Brides – Fall Of The Plastic Empire

Philadelphia’s Burning Brides are playing with my head. I am not sure if it is the classic metal chugging that switches seamlessly to heavy indie pop, the goth theatrics or space age (a la Dr Who) sound effects? Or is it the vocal style of Dimitri Coats slipping between punk, baggy, screaming metal god and moody early 80’s indie? Either way , they are warping my tiny little mind – and I like it.

‘Fall Of The Plastic Empire’ is never predictable and is endlessly playable for it’s familiarity by virtue of homage to psychedelia, punk, rock and the rest. As a debut album you couldn’t ask for more.
