Graham Coxon – Freakin’ Out

Released as a limited edtion 7″, the first single to be taken from Graham Coxon’s 5th solo album, Happiness In Magazines, is both a return and a departure at the same time. Having had a stab pretty much every genre you can think of (in retrospective rock terms) this single sees him taking on the bouncey punk of The Undertones and The Buzzcocks and sees a return to lone-musician status (he does pretty much everything but was joined by Louis Vause and BJ Cole on The Kiss Of Morning). Production from Stephen Street draws it all together in a more orderly and less lo-fi fashion than on previous releases, though Coxon still manages to retain the slightly chaotic nature in his sound that makes him so great.
