Island Records are to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of Bob Marley’s seminal album ‘Exodus‘ with a re-release across a variety of formats, including USB memory stick and Micro SD memory card. Out on 28 May, the memory stick will be limited to 4000 copies and produced in Rastafarian colours, red, gold and green, whilst the tiny flash memory card – which can be used in mobile phones, audio players and PCs – will be limited to just 2000 copies. Both of those formats will contain bonus live video footage.
The re-issue will, of course, also be available via more traditional means, as a standard CD, and as a deluxe limited edition CD including a DVD of twelve live tracks recorded during the summer of 1977. It will also be available on Vinyl. They’re also releasing a new hardback book which will include a copy of the CD.
A 90 minute Arena programme marking the anniversary will be aired on BBC2 at the end of May following a preview at the National Film Theatre on 27 April.
