Suzanne Vega’s UK Tour announced

Pioneering American, singer/songwriter, SUZANNE VEGA is returning to the UK for her first tour in two years. Songs such as ‘Marlene on the Wall’, ‘Luka’ and the hugely successful album ‘Solitude Standing’ have brought her gentle yet powerfully political acoustic pop to a global audience.

In 1990, her career received an extra boost when UK-based rap duo DNA released a remix of a cappella song ‘Tom’s Diner’, which charted world-wide.  She has inspired a whole new generation of musicians – Beth Orton and Alanis Morrisette spring to mind – and tonight is another chance to hear those beautiful songs and Suzanne’s hauntingly fragile vocals.

June 5th sees Suzanne release new album ‘Beauty & Crime’, her debut on the legendary Blue Note Records. Inspired by the city where Suzanne grew up and still currently resides, Beauty & Crime revolves around Suzanne’s experiences in New York. The album also includes two of Suzanne¹s most personal songs yet, a love song for her husband, ‘Bound’, and a dedication to her daughter, ‘As You Are Now’.

Recorded in both New York and London with a list of collaborators including members of Sonic Youth, David Bowie and Patti Smith’s bands, this tour is the perfect opportunity to see a very special artist back to her very best.
