REM’s early releases on DVD

An anthology of REM’s early releases via IRS Records is to be released via EMI Catalog Music Marketing on 12 September, as both a single-disc CD package and as a double-disc set featuring rarities, live tracks and previously unreleased material. Entitled ‘And I Feel Fine’ the CD will comprise tracks from REM’s first five years, including the likes of ‘Begin The Begin’ and ‘It’s The End Of The World As We Know It’. A DVD release, ‘When the Light Is Mine’, will feature music videos and live TV performances.

The band were involved in creating the new releases, says band manager Bertis Downs, who adds: “This is a good history lesson on the days of yore when the band first started out and were writing sometimes 2-3 songs a day, many of which became classics, and some of which were lost in the mists of tape and time and vault.”

And now it’s time for tracklisting heaven. Take it away, REM.
