Alice Cooper gets keys to Alice

Alice Cooper has been given the key to a US town called Alice in recognition of him, erm, having the same name (of course the town is really called Alice, not sure about Alice Cooper). Anyway, about a thousand people came to the town (which only has a population of around sixty, apparently) to see him presented with his gold plated key and marble plaque.

Mayor Dan Lund, who said the town had not seen such excitement since its centennial celebration in 2000, went on to say: “There’s not a whole lot of buildings to unlock with that key, but Alice is a cool guy and Alice is a cool city – so it’s a fun thing to do.” He added, however, that country music is actually more his thing, saying: “He rocked a little too hard for me. I wasn’t quite angry enough to be into his music.”
