Benjamin Zephaniah vs. Rodney P – Naked & Mixed Up (CD Review)

Benjamin Zephaniah, renown politicised poet and musician (amongst many other things), and the equally renown UK Hip Hop pioneer Rodney P have created a downtempo, trip hop collection that gives focus to Zephaniah’s words while Rodney P and the other contributors (see below) make masterful reggae infused electronica.

If you like something thoughtful to chill out to, that is occasionally funny and uniformly excellent then you can’t deny yourself this album. It is a blend of new and old that seamlessly bridges all the gaps.

The album is also worth getting for the booklet that comes with it; illustrated by legendary Bristol artist Banksy.
