The wait is over. The big cat is out of the bag. Yeah Yeah Yeahs release the first single Gold Lion from their new album Show Your Bones on 20th March 2006 with the album out hot on it’s heels the following week.

Gold Lion is our first taste of new YYYs material – a big and bold, acoustic-riff driven strut with amped-up razor edge guitars care of Nick Zinner, a bad-ass Brian Chase beat and a fever-indusing turn by singer Karen O topped off with swoonsome “ooh oohs”.

Show Your Bones was recorded in LA with producer Squeak E. Clean, and mixed in London with Alan Moulder. “Show Your Bones is what happens when you put your finger in a light socket,” says singer Karen O. “Maybe there is some of that electric current flowing through the tracks of our album illuminating us from the inside out for you to laugh at and cry to or fry to. Or not.”

Gold Lion promo video was directed by Patrick Daughters, director of previous YYYs videos for Date With The Night and the award nominated Maps.
