According to NME.com, The Futureheads are nearly finished recording their
second album, after just five or so weeks in the studio with producer Ben
Hillier. The new LP, entitled ‘News And Tributes’ is set for a May release.
Bassist Jaff says of the new album: “It’s a progression, things are slightly
different. For me it’s the singing, the accents and attitude are the same
but it’s a lot less cluttered.”
On the isolated location of the studio on the North Yorkshire moors,
frontman Barry Hyde commented: “It was remote, but not far away from
civilisation. We were in this amazing farmhouse in the hills. No mobile
reception or anything. It had different weather, it had its own eco-system!
It was cold though, no central heating, just a coal fire.”
