Stephanie Kirkham – Show Me What You’re Made Of (CD Review)

The last I heard of Stephanie Kirkham was a single from her album ‘This Girl’ where she was being hailed as a new singer songwriter to be reckoned with. Personally, I found her début rather frivolous pop and took no further interest. I may have been wrong to write her off so soon.

‘Show Me What You’re Made Of’ is a bright, light and gentle jazz tune that has clear echoes of perhaps Sam Brown, Edie Brickell and most definitely of Edie Reader and Fairground Attraction. This is never going to amaze or intoxicate you but it is certainly listenable and relaxing. Stephanie has her new album ‘Sunlight On My Soul’ out now.
