Spike Island Three-Dayer gets permission

Halton Council have given the go ahead for a three day music event to take
place at the Spike Island park in Widnes this year. Councillor Rob Polhill
said: “This event is set to be the biggest concert here in ten years and it
is appropriate that it is taking place at Spike Island, where the Stone
Roses played their famous concert.”

According to Gigwise, organisers are busy approaching possible headliners,
in particular, former Stone Rose Ian Brown as well as Oasis and Coldplay.
Promoter David Millar says: “The festival will be taking place before the
other major concerts such as the Reading Festival so that bands can still
play both.”
