Sons And Daughters release Optimo remixes

JD Twitch and JG Wilkes, the DJ duo who run Glasgow’s infamous club night Optimo, have remixed two tracks by friends and fellow Glaswegians Sons And Daughters. Both mixes will be available as downloads and on 12” vinyl from January 23rd.

JD Twitch & The Truffle Club’s Optimo Mix of summer single Dance Me In straightens up the original to a 4/4-backed DJ’s dream of a track. Handclap breakdowns, dirty bass and the raw war chant vocal of the original are all present, combining to allow a jacked-up monster to unravel before you. Definitely one to spread the track’s already obvious dancefloor appeal, its certain to get crowds from Bugged Out to Trash slavering to its every turn.

Optimo’s other half, JG Wilkes who remixes under the name Naum Gabo with his colleague James, gets to grips with Love The Cup’s La Lune pitting Sons and Daughters’ feral Scottish attitude right up against a Studio 54 sheen for an unlikely voyage into the disco cosmos. Awash with some tense, out-of-nowhere and earth shattering drops, it is one of the most unpredictably gratifying remixes you’ll have heard all year.

Sons And Daughters are currently touring Australia following sell out dates in the UK. September and October were spent touring the U.S where the band’s latest album The Repulsion Box has won widespread critical acclaim. Sons And Daughters played a clutch of headlining dates along with supporting both The Decemberists and Brighteyes.
