Giddy Motors (www.giddymotors.com) are a band we last put on at Silver Rocket headlining over The Kills. We were right to do that. They manage to simultaneously be on jazz-tronica friendly label Fat Cat and have their album produced by Steve Albini. If that doesn’t give you a clear enough idea try this quote from DrownedinSound:

“Giddy Motors offer a wrought, fractured take on the post-hardcore blueprint, combining raw, Albini-cised bassy abrasiveness with a wild, scattered poeticism, all topped off with some genuinely surprising rhythmic jolts and a serpentine, liquid structure.”

    Good then? Yes.

Blood Red Shoes (www.catonform.co.uk/bloodredshoes) are a two-piece from London and Brighton. They sound like Huggy Bear and Babes In Toyland and a bit like the Rogers Sisters, and they rule.

I have to confess to knowing almost nothing about Popular Workshop, other than they are Gypsy from Querelle’s new band, and we like Querelle an awful lot.
