The Boxer Rebellion have been around for a while and have a following of solid rock fans that appreciate their mixture of good rock and Nathan’s Radiohead-esque vocals. The songs that make up this, their debut, album are driven and passionate whirlwinds of guitars. The Boxer Rebellion are at their best when they are rocking out, screaming and playing for all they are worth.

Which is not always the case, ‘World Without End’ for instance is a rather incongruous ballad that doesn’t really work very well. It heralds in the second half of the album which is slower and attempts to build some tension rather than pleasantly assaulting the listener. The result is very reminiscent of Radiohead’s ‘Pablo Honey’.
Sadly, Nathan has picked up a throat infection and the band have had to postpone their May tour of the UK. Dates are due to be rescheduled, see the bands website for details.
