Moving Units – Dangerous Dreams (CD Review)

Moving Units are a three piece light dance rock outfit from Los Angeles and ‘Dangerous Dreams’ is their debut album. The album itself is harmless enough; inoffensive but ultimately quite dull and repetitive. Their sound is very reminiscent of Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Simple Minds and countless new wave bands. There are the tiniest of snatches of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Cure, Madness and The Rapture but sadly without the vibrancy of any of those bands.

I hope their live performances show more spirit and verve than this recording which plods along rather tediously. There are UK shows planned for this year.
