luxembourg – What The Housewives Don’t Tell You (Review)

Describing themselves as “pop noir,” luxembourg (with a lower case “l” to avoid any confusion with a certain European nation) take sonic reference from the following: Kingmaker, The Pixies, Pulp and Roxy Music.

All 3 songs on this single are tales of desire and romance gone awry, free of any gloss. The charm of this is that they manage to do it without being cynical or self-pitying.

Luxembourg have the makings of a really great band. This could be the start of something big.
