Franz Ferdinand – Doing it for the kids

Due to the unprecedented demand for tickets, Franz Ferdinand have announced a number of extra dates on their forthcoming UK tour. A third London Brixton Academy date on Saturday 30th October and a second Manchester Apollo date on Tuesday 26th October have been added. Tickets for both shows will go on sale at 9.30am on Wednesday 11th August. The band have also announced details of a matinee show for younger fans at Glasgow Barrowlands on Saturday 16th October.

Tickets will be available to under 18s and adults aged over 18 can only attend the show if accompanying a child, but only two adults per child will be allowed. Groups of children aged less than 14 years must be accompanied by at least one adult aged over 18. Anyone not accompanying children who are suspected of being over 18 will be asked to show ID.

Tickets for the Glasgow matinee show will be £7 and are available from Monday 9th August at 9.30am via www.ticketmaster.co.uk or over the counter at Ripping Records and Tickets Scotland. The tickets for their original two Glasgow Barrowlands dates sold out in record time.

The band are set to release the final single, Michael, from their eponymous debut album, on August 16th 2004. They are also set to appear at the Reading and Leeds festivals on August the 28th and 29th respectively.
