From the prolific, inspirational and talented minds of the mass ensemble known as Lambchop, comes not one, but two brilliant albums. This, largely underground, alt.country group of innovators and traditionalists had an explosion of productivity in the studio and decided to release the fruits of their endeavour as a double album. The album spans rock and roll, light and bright summer tunes along with sounds that seem to originate in the 30’s or 40’s. The soulfully deep, gravely and kind vocals of (singer and songwriter) Kurt Wagner croon though the beautifully written and touchingly observed reflections contained within these tracks. The delicate strings, slide guitar, piano and the plethora of additional instruments Lambchop use, all come through in richly seasoned precision.
Lambchop have always been a class act, and continue to amaze with every release but “Aw C’mon” and “No You C’mon” must easily be their finest yet.
Lambchop will be touring the UK in March.
