Martin Freeman, (aka Tim, from the hit t.v series ‘The Office’), takes a break from romancing Dawn to star in the video for Ilya’s gorgeous new single ‘Bellissimo’ (out March 1st on Virgin).
The video is directed by young, up and coming filmmakers, The Guard Brothers and is an engaging modern love story.
The narrative follows Freeman as he fights against the tide of London’s rush hour, desperate to meet his girlfriend as she disembarks from the Eurostar at Waterloo. With artistic nods to hit French film ‘Amelie’, the video charmingly captures the French chanson quality of singer Jo Swann’s smoky voice and the sultry, sophisticated mood of the single.
‘Bellissimo’ is written and produced by Ilya’s three Bristol based members: vocalist Jo Swann, writer Nick Pullin and producer Dan Brown. Their forthcoming album ‘They Died for Beauty’ (out Feb 23) is a rich and cinematic collection of songs.
‘Bellissimo’ is the soundbed for the latest Cacharel perfume ‘amor amor’ TV advert and is released February 9th on Virgin Records. In addition to Martin Freeman, the video also stars Lena Heady (‘Possession’ and the forthcoming Matt Damon and Heath Ledger film ‘The Brother’s Grim’) and Jhodi May (‘Tipping The Velvet’).
