Joss Stone, the 16 year-old soul singer from Devon, is to embark on her first headline dates in the UK in late January and early February. With her only previous live shows in her home country being a packed showcase at London’s Ronnie Scott’s and rapturously received support slots with nu-soul legend Erykah Badu, these 4 dates are set to be the hot tickets of the new year.
The tour will follow the release of Joss’s debut single ‘Fell in love with a boy’ which is released on Relentless on January 26th, and is taken from her debut album ‘The Soul Sessions’. While Joss’s single is a re-working of the White Stripes’ ‘Fell in love with a girl’, produced by Philadelphia’s hip-hop group The Roots and featuring Angie Stone, ‘The Soul Sessions’ is a well chosen mixture of classic and lesser-known soul gems, ranging from Aretha Franklin’s ‘All the King’s Horses’ to The Isley’s ‘For The Love Of You’.
Joss continues to make great strides in the US and is now confirmed to perform at the launch of MTV’s new College Network in January in New York.
Joss plays the following UK dates:
- Saturday 31st January, Birmingham Carling Academy 2
- Tuesday 3rd February, Manchester University
- Wednesday 4th February, London, Scala
- Thursday 5th February, Bristol Fleece & Firkin
Support on all shows will be up-and-coming Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall.
Tickets available at all usual outlets and are priced £10 (£12.50 in London). Advanced ticket sales are subject to booking fee. 24 hr credit card hotline: 0871 2200260 or buy On Line at www.gigsandtours.com
